F40PH's in phase IV paint scheme

    Were any F40PH's painted in phase IV paint scheme besids the ones that were converted to cab control/baggage cars? If so, does any one know of any photos on the web? :confused:

    The Amtrak Photo Archives is the best site on the web for just about any Amtrak photographic information. It's located at:

    Here's one of the pages on the site showing F40PHs - if you scroll down to Amtrak 398, 401, and others, you'll see photos of one Phase IV variation:

    Several F40's were painted in Phase IV, for example #374, #358, & #354 all used on the Heartland Flyer. Some of the 400 series were painted in a "Grey Ghost" scheme where the entire engine was painted silver with the IV stripes.
