I have used both Peco55 and ME55 for probably 25 years. Both support Pizza Cutters, as they have very small rail spikes. Atlas Code 55 has large spikes which is why it does not support Pizza Cutters. I like the Pizza Cutters for backing long trains reliably. However, if I ever body mount all my freight cars for more reliability, I will remove the Pizza Cutters. - Tonkphilip -

If I recall correctly, isn't Peco 55 basically 80 with an additional web? An oversimplification, I know, but it would make mating with C80 easier, and it is at the point of joining modules that the real difficulty could come.

Peco Code 55 is really Code 80 partially buried into the ties. This image from Fifer Hobby shows it perfectly.

Again, use of PECO code 55 track on an NTRAK module is already allowed. Are you not reading the manual?

This has drifted too far from the stated topic and gone off the rails.
