I will be posting a few of my home made videos of action on my G scale railroad here in this thread. All videos are "You Tube" related which is a McAffe rated safe site to visit. You can click the header title above the video which will take you directly to You Tube or you can click the play arrow in the center of the video to watch here at this board.

    EMD trainman goes "You Tube"

Hi, I figured that with all of the postings and pictures that videos would be the next step in sharing some real action on my layout. I chose You Tube as a form of watching these videos and also sharing. It was easy and free to join "You Tube". I joined and made my first video running my USA Trains "Heritage Series" train. You can see my first G scale video here >>>

I was a little nervous but thought the video came out half way decent, hope you enjoy it. I plan on more videos at a later date.

EMD Trainmans You Tube Video #4 "The Tour"

Here is the full tour of my basement and my train layout which has been and still is a project in the works. The basement was originally finished when I bought the house and was complete with a 6 person wet bar, sink, billard table, dart board, built in wall stereo system complete with speakers thru out, 2 beer flourescent advertising lights and a hide a bed sofa with queen size matress. The last person just nailed paneling direct to the cinder block wall which created moisture, therefore, there became a problem with mold, earwigs and termites. All of this had to be torn all back out again, cleaned and done over again. The seperate room was originally the food area for all of the parties. I built the room originally for my office, but then as the railroad grew I needed yard space, so I moved my office upstairs. The bar, billard table, dart board, etc, went out the door. I applied a loctite compund to the block walls which is a moisture preventing compound. Then I put up actual moisture barrier type insulation, then I installed 2 X 4 studing with R22 Insulation between each stud with 3/8 sheet plywood of which course I will install moisture resistant type paneling. Needless to say it's nice and cozy down there, cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

    Here is the video tour

EMD Trainmans you tube video - Ride on a SD40-2

Hi, today we are going to ride on a flat bed being pushed by my USA SD40-2 triple header. This was an experiment that I think turned out very well. I can't wait to start hanging my drop ceiling with florecent lights for the dak areas. Anyway, I riged a flashlight to the flat bed as a big giant headlight. The video is about 10 minutes, you get 6 minutes of riding up front and then about 4 minutes of riding on the back being pulled by the caboose.

    EMD Trainmans Train Board infomercial

I reallly like this board and talked it over with Charlie about promoting it while using the Train Boards logo with permission from him. This video has been viewed at this time by 50 viewers and has recieved a 4 star rating by the viewers, not bad for a infomercial. I plan on promoting this board again in the up and coming East Coast Large scale Train show. Here is the link for the Train Board infomercial I made, I hope everyone here likes it also. EMD Trainmans awesome 50 rail car pull

I have made history on SB Rail Lines and did a 50 rail car plus caboose pull and got it on video. This pull was made on my layout indoors on 8ft curves which is amazing that the cars did not come off in the curves because of being so tight. You can watch this historical event also as it unfolds on SB Rail Lines right here on train board, just click the play button in the center of the video. The 50 rail cars are being pulled by my USA F-3 ABBA units.

EMD Trainman video section is back

Due to popular demand outside of this train forum, I have decided to continue on making movies. I was surprised of how many people signed up to my you tube video section. I was judging the popularity of my videos by how many views this section got on train board. I don't want to invest time into something if it will not prove to be too popular. When I went to delete my You Tube account, the views there were different and also I had people who signed up to my video section. So in view of all of this, I will also bring this section back to Train Board although it may not prove popular here, but at least people who know me here can view it also.

Thanx to all pf those who took the time to view and support my video section.

New video just released / "Busy day on SB Rail Lines"

Here is my new video, it has 3 out of my 6 trains in action at one time on "You Tube". You will see my F3 ABBA set busy pulling 40ft freight cars and 10,000 gallon tank cars while my GP-30 goes rushing by on track #2 with a flat service train and then lets not forget my Coal train on track #3 as the GP-9 locomotive engines thunder trying to pull it. See how busy it can get, thank goodness there isn't no derails, one bad derail can take out another train in a domino effect, but still the day goes by great.

Here is the link for the new video

Awesome Videos~ I wish I had a basement that big. And do I spy Aristocraft track? Actually it was the track bumper. Love the USA Trains Caboose. My only complaint is the interior isn't detailed with an interior. I have plans to fix that with a little styrene and glue when I get mine.

DragonFyreGT, Yes I used Aristocraft Euro style track for 2 good reasons. The number 1 reason is that USA track choices back in 2000 when all of this was being constructed wasn't there. I chose Euro style over American style because it is more durable to step on and not break off ties, plus Euro style was more available on hand and American style you had to order. I also have Aristocraft track bumpers and Aristocraft 10ft X-Wide switches, but not the #6 wide switches, they are too big for my little layout. The USA cabooses don't feature a detailed interior, but unless you replace the frosted out windows, you will be wasting your time putting a interior in a USA caboose.

EMD Trainman video: How To Coupler conversion

I made a new video featuring my new Aristocraft Rio Grande 2 bay offset coal hopper and a USA Trains 70 ton hopper car. I explain in this video the incapadability between the Aristocraft knyckle coupler and the USA knuckle coupler. I also explain the pros and cons of Kadee couplers and why I rather use USA knuckle couplers. Then I move on to show you how to convert your Aristocraft rolling stock over to USA couplers in a matter of seconds.

    Here is the video
