Anyone have any experience/thoughts on this device. It looks like it connects to a test track by way of the a comm port. It then allows you to:

Directly put in four digit addresses for Digitrax decoders as well as adjusting the FX effects and reversing the decoder's output polarity
You can "draw" the Loadable Speed step curve you want and send it directly to the decoder via the PR1's programming track.
Do direct register programming for Lenz and other DCC compatible decoders.
Save all the decoder information to and from named files on a computer disk. This makes it simple to load the same speed table into several different decoders. [/list] It sounds pretty good to me, but I'd like to hear from real-world users. Thanks... Check out the Digitrax egroup at egroups.com. There over 1000 members of the Digitrax egroup. There is a lot of discussion about this item. Several versions out there, windows/DOS. When it works it works great, when it doesn't work it is a pain to figure out why. Main problem seems to be that you need a very stable power source to do the programing of the loco. With it you can program any CV of any, not just Digitrax, decoder.
I'm just beginning to hear of the existence of this device. I think I'll wait for a couple of revisions come out. It seems a little finicky. If you're real good at source code or machine language you probably will feel comfortable with it, but I'm not so I want to wait a few months. I like the idea a lot though. ------------------ When in doubt, empty your magazine. Member #33
