There have been other detours of the Zephyr—
1) last year when there was a derailment west of Ottumwa

2) the new Mississippi River lift bridge being constructed in Burlington

What's the reason for UP's -70ACe at the point of this Amtrak train ?

Amtrak does not have cab signal capability (ATC), so the UP has to add their power on the point so that cab signaling can be used.
