I posted a couple weeks ago asking for feedback / ideas on creating an Inglenook shelf layout. Well, I have done that using Kato track pieces, and am having a blast operating it. I want to add more, though. I spent lots of time in SCARM and coming up with ideas. I think I have a plan of attack. See below image:

This should maintain my Inglenook puzzle but add some other operating options. Particularly, this will add:
    - a main line
    - two industry spurs
    - a runaround

The industries will be facades of buildings placed on the backdrop.

In this version, I think I'll view the Inglenook as a yard rather than an industry itself.

I picture a few operational possibilities:
    - Insert the locomotive into the Inglenook and solve the puzzle (arrange a four-car train) based on randomly drawn cards of each freight car in the Inglenook yard.
    - Get that 4-car train on the mainline one car at a time, using the runaround. I think the train could only be put onto the mainline traveling east (to the right), so the locomotive doesn't get trapped.
    - Randomly draw a card for a single car in the yard and place it next to one of the industries. Retrieve that car from the yard, shuffling other cars as needed. Drop that car at the desired industry. You may need to use the runaround.
    - Have one car at each industry. The desired operation is to swap them.

I am sure there are other things I could do with this to keep it interesting.

The bottom right of the layout will be a bit barren of track. I suppose this could eventually get some interesting scenery like a road. I could also leave it open as a place to expand track into a third industry if I ever wanted.

Any suggestions? Feedback? Am I going to run into any issues? The only "issue" I can spot so far is I will only be able to bring a four-car train onto the mainline heading in one direction, but I think based on my size constraints there is no way around that.
