Same with folks who move here 3-5 years after our last hurricane...."Why didn't someone tell us?" Hope your situation gets back to normal soon.
Well, another weekend and another storm in the forecast. Even for a native like me that our family has been here for about 120 years this is not normal for DENVER itself Here is the offical record for December for DENVER/BOULDER from NOAA. 10 SNOWIEST DECEMBERS DENVER/BOULDER (1882-2006) 57.4 1913 <-- Snowiest Month in Denver History 30.8 1973 29.4 2006 <-- 27.1 1982 21.5 1987 19.6 1918 18.4 1924 17.8 1960 17.5 1891 16.5 1979 How many weeks straight does this make now? Will January 2007 make the Top 10 list also at this rate?
I remember the 82 and 87 storms. The snow totals came mostly from 2 storms. The difference here is that the storms are spread out and it doesn't seem like we are getting a break. We still have snow on the ground from storms in November. That is unusual. Eric
Darren Sorry, keep it down that way. The ice storm the other night was enough. It did not last long, but it was enough..
And it's snowing again in Longont! I've heard that we're do for 3-6" more. Should wait until the piles out front are gone first though!! Still have a 4' pile by the driveway, from the first storm we got! Oh well.......Might get to play with snowblower again later this morning.
well it appears we have more snow coming for this weeekend and now after 46 years on the snow and ice today i decided to break my leg. Which means that there will be trains running like mad on the joint line this weekend.
RTD G-Line went Offline The RTD Light Rail G-Line which runs along I-225 was offline today during the morning rush hour as crews worked in near ZERO tempatures to make repairs. DENVER is still facing bitter cold conditions and SNOW has now been on the ground for over 40 days striaght. My backyard is still under about 18" of snow right now and more still falling every few days From 9News.com DENVER - Passengers on a portion of the light rail are being shuttled by busses Thursday morning due to a broken overhead cable. Authorities say the broken cable is at the 9 Mile Station affecting both the Dayton and Southmoor stops. They believe it is due to the extreme temperatures. Power to the light rail in that section had been shut down and passengers were being shuttled by busses along the route. Authorities say one track at the station is now running but busses are still being used to supplement the other closed track. No injuries have been reported and an estimated time of repair was not immediately known.
wow... I've been toying with the idea of catching Amtrak from galesburg to denver, staying in denver for 12 hours, then catching the train back to galesburg..... do I really wanna be in denver for 12 hours freezing the cajones?? LOL
Come when it's warmer and take it all the way to Glenwood Springs so you pass through Glenwood Canyon. If you check out HEMI's and other photographs in that section you will know why I'm suggesting it. :shade: :shade: :shade: :shade:
It's snowing again in Great Falls, about an inch an hour or so. Very big flakes! And I'm stuck at WORK!
