Check out and actually run the only currently operating internet controllable model railroad at www.internetmodelrailroad.com

DCC locomotive control, Freescale MOD5270 processor (147 MHZ, 32 bit coldfire - this ain't no Arduino) with machine vision, automatic trip navigation, and tracking of Locomotive B by camera 2 during automatic trips. A total of three selectable cameras allow observation of the layout.

Neat! Unfortunately, had a derailment on the double x-over! I was able to push the cars back to the inner loop and clear the switch, but Loco 1 is no longer coupled to its cars.

Yes, same thing ran train on outer loop through crossover to inner looop no problem, but from inner loop to outer, took the first switch ok, but stopped at the last switch on the outer loop.

I just put the cars on loco 1 and will have to do some test running. Things occasionally derail for unknown reasons.

Just ran A back and forth thru the crossover several ways and it seems OK. Just one of those inexplicable things I guess. All I can do is put them back on the track when they come off!

That is the joy of the hobby. I can run trains all day without a derailment, but as soon as someone comes over, one happens immediately.

I had the hang of it, and......they....disappeared. Sorry if they left the track!

You can pan and tilt camera 2 - so you can always use that camera to find the trains. Camera 2 will follow locomotive B while it is making an automatic trip - keep it in sight. I am considering adding pan to camera 3 and having 2 follow the B train all the time.

I don't know what happened. I was trying to treat it as if it was my own. The last thing I want to do is damage ANYTHING. I' m really sorry if it jumped the track. I tried switching cameras, but it didn't do anything. My iPad was giving me weird messages when I hit the camera buttons. It was really working great until it disappeared. I felt like NASA when something goes horribly wrong. They don't know for cerain until they get the skywatcher's reports.

Excellent, Vernon! It appeared that LOC A might have been derailed when I logged in, but I was able to run LOC B just fine on the inner loop and spur.

    Congratulations!

I think the problem was caused by the couplers on the cars on the A train being a slightly different type than the locomotive. I ran it around this AM and they came off the track. So I removed the cars for now..

I logged in just now. The trains weren't visible until I switched to Camera 2. Looks like someone has done a kamikaze move at the crossover.

Yes - I have to fix kamikaze moves every now and then. Back together now.

Well, the trains can be forced to crash:
