Great looking paint job! Did you do any modifications to the shell? ...oops...you have to repair the handrails....
Frank, I saw that when I posted the picture. The engine is stock right now, but I need to get rid that big hole in the front. The plans are to install a pilot on every GP38.
Glad you brought this thread back John. Who made the truck? It looks great. How does your GP38 run? My different locos seem to take turns running well depending on clean track, wheels, humidty etc, etc...but my gp 38 really seems to be passing the test. For the price it really is top notch.
Joe, the truck is made by Alvaro. Here is one of my favorites, a Mustang. I think the GP38's are ok, they really need to be warm up before they run well. So far of the two GP38's I tested, one runs a little rough and one runs well. The GP35 is a better runner, but he GP38 is not bad. I am thinking of ordering a extra set of trucks to convert one of the GP38 for switching. Where the extra pulling power is not needed, but the better power pickup will allow it run in less then perfect track at low speed. Mike, what a great idea. I will ask Alvaro to paint one of the trucks in new image yellow.
John's MP15DC Another MP15DC finished, this time, of course in CSX colors and typical CSX filthiness... ;-)
That is a beaut for sure. So John are you getting to a point where you can't take an entire picture of your CSX fleet?
That is funny, I have been so good waiting for the mikado, my wife actually asked if I was gonna buy something in the meantime anyway. (Now that doesn't happen every day!)
Latest addition to the fleet {\rtf1\ansi\ansicpg1252 {\fonttbl\f0\fnil\fcharset0 Verdana;} {\colortbl;\red255\green255\blue255;\red0\green0\blue0;\red255\green255\blue255;} \deftab720 \pard\pardeftab720\sl480\partightenfactor0 \f0\fs22 \cf2 \cb3 \expnd0\expndtw0\kerning0 \outl0\strokewidth0 \strokec2 \ }
I know Jacques, but CSX never was good at keeping the engine clean. A little weathering will hide the imperfection's in the engine.
