a little "dirt" will bring out the details, john. nice cars. you will have a winning juice train! dave f.
great freight cars! I had the newer two bay kits, bending was no problem at all. I have suggested to E&D to seperate the funnels from the bottom plate in the 3 bay kit. This way one can decide esier to buid a 3 bay or 4 bay. / Frank
So what are you doing on the board. Get off your rear end and repaint them, because I cant wait to see the pictures.
yes, Yoshy. I painted the fuel tanks, pilot, and couplers. CSX 8014 is getting the coupler painted later. It will get additional details when I have time.
I added another car to the CSX fleet. This car is made from two MTL PS2, and I just follow where Garth's directions.
John, Noticed your FEC 434 loco kitbash photo - what brand of filler putty are you using? Yours, John Bartolotto
John, I use Mr. White putty, and its from Japan. Its smoother then Squadron and I can put down a thinner coat. Also, what you see its not putty, its paint. I use paint like putty to seal seems and to see if my seems are smooth.
Hi John & John, so this is the reason for the strechted chassis. Looking forward to see the final result. I use Tamiya putty, very good to mill and linich and quick drying too
...dissolving small parts of styrene in thinner gets you sort of styrene putty, which works also to fill small gabs in styrene.
Gerd - Used Tamiya putty, works well. Frank - That is a great idea. What brand of thinner do you recommend? John - Where do you purchase your Mr. White putty from? John
John, I get it from my local hobby shop, but you can get them online.Gunze Sangyo Mr. White Putty 30g Sealed
Eh I guess I ran into a linguistical problem.... Thinner is a solvent which can be use to degrease old painted woodwork prior to repaint. I found out that this thinner works great for building with styrene. It just melts the surface of the styrene and realy melts parts together alike welding. I will check for the chemical composition on the bottle. I know that it is not the most environmetal friently stuff.
