Hi all, I never seen this type of loco before. I had no time to scan the pic as it's with my son at his grandmother's (he like to show her our rail fan trip pics). The engine number is 7058 and was cuppled to a green engine (could get the number, it was dirty). Down to the southwestern part of the yard was another engine. I didn't see the Conrail switcher in the yard, so that might have been it. I never seen an engine like this before...almost like it had no nose. I just missed the train consist to Montreal.
If it was a CSX loco, it was probably a C30-7. They occupied the number series from 7000 to about 70-something. That is off the top of my head; if they have added or changed the series, it could be different. Chessie

Must have been getting ready to run south likely.

Most of these locos were originally delivered in the old "Family Lines" paint scheme that was used in the SCL/L&N merger prior to the formation of Seaboard System and CSX. As a result, I can recall seeing many in the Family Lines paint scheme, but few in SBD SYS... I guess they just skipped it and were repainted in one of the CSX schemes (including "stealth") Chessie
