I just got a copy of the CP/Soo District employee timetable from 1995 and am amazed at just how much information is in here. It looks like the original owner worked the Elgin Sub as all the speed limits are highlighted for that sub only. I also got the rule book with it. Most of it is self-explanatory but I have a couple of questions and might need to bug you guys with more - hope you don't mind [IMG]

Anyway - first question: since it is called a 'timetable' I expected a schedule of trains, but the only list of trains or times is the Amtrak trains. Are any of the freights scheduled? I thought that the IM trains were. Am I missing something or is this not part of the System Timetable?

Second question: Like I said, it looks like this guy worked the Elgin Sub - how much do you guys work outside of one Subdivision?

Set Schedules for frieght is rare at best.

Only ones here are CP's Expressway service, where it leaves at a specific time from each Terminal. That is as close as you are going to get to "scheduled".

As for the working out of home district, I will let Blake handle that one, when he wakes up, he worked 508 the other day, and more than likely is beat.

Well out of London for the East pool(to Toronto). We start out on the Galt Sub. Mile 114.6 to mile 4.9 at West Toronto. From there we go on the North Toronto Sub. Mile 5.9 to 0.0 at Leaside. Then we are on the Bellville Sub. mile 206.3 to 195.9 at Nielsons.

Now Detroit pool starts out on the Galt sub. as well. The start of the Windsor Sub. mile 0.0 to 112.0 at College Ave in Windsor, unless you go into Windsor Yard, the you shoot off of the sub at mile 109.8. At College Ave is the Connection to the CASO sub. Soon to become mile 112.0+ on the Windsor Sub. It will end at around mile 114.0 or where the 24th st. controlled location is. Then we are on Conrail(CSX/NS) lines both the Micigan & Detroit lines, then at Delray we go on to the CSX.(my NORAC Book is at work so I don't have the exact milages).

As well for the CN re-routes at Melrose, mile 11.8 on the Windsor. Is the connection to CN's Strathroy Sub.

For Hamilton bound trains, at Guleph Jct. on the Galt Sub. at mile 39.2. There is the Jct with the Hamilton Sub. We take it from mile 76.1 to Kinnear Yard which is at mile 55.4. Hope that sheds some light on this subject for you.

Now for scheduling, we have assigned jobs. The Expressway, Roadrailer, Han Turn, Guelph Jct. Turn, Sprint train. All of these have an advertised start time, that is as close to scheuled freight as we get. Now GO trains(commuter), they have a set schedule.

Thanks guys - I reckon I could find today's advertised schedules (CP web site) but does anyone have any ideas what I should look for times in the 1993-95 time frame?
