I need a picture of the back of a CP Rail Redbarn with road number #9000 or #9022, this are the only two with the dual flag scheme and I need to know the location of the road number on the back, thank you...
Steve: I did a "Google" search and couldn't find what you want. Lenny probably has a photo of the #9000 or the #9022. Sorry I couldn't help you...
steve.... see here : http://www.geocities.com/soo8513/vCP9022_4.jpg now you should be able to finish my redbarns....
Ok, Canadian rail modelers and modelers who live in Canada, I have a question related to these units: Is there a fan following for the "Draper Taper" units in Canada and among Canadian modelers? Considering the fanaticism that surrounds the 'Tunnel Motors' it seems like there might be a similar craze for these unique Canadian locos. I'm pretty sure it was a CN SD50 (with taper body?) that debuted the 'comfort cab' on the ATSF. That led to the wide nose becoming the veritable standard for Class 1's here in the U.S. and would love to see Atlas produce that unit. I think the market for Canadian prototype units is larger than many understand. It will only grow as more run-through and lease units continue to appear south of the border.
Hey! It's okay for people to want these, but it better not happen before we get our F45's and FP45's!
"is there a fan following for the "Draper Taper" units in Canada and among Canadian modelers?" There is a market for these babies especially here in B.C. CP runs a SD40-2F (Red barns), and CN uses SD50f, SD60f, and dash 8-40C. BC Rail also has used the dash 8-40c. Kaslo shops makes, or is in the process of making shells for of them. Check them out at: http://www.kasloshops.com/
Johnny... ...this is the Kaslo Shops SD40-2F Redbarn right now on my working desk (some details are still missing but the most of the "hard work" is done...) to be continued...
Wow Steve looks great. My SD60f's are still in the 'box of good intentions'. I hope to get to them after fishing season.
