During the fifties at least and maybe into the sixties CP moved grain in box cars. Often they had wooden (2 x 6 ) boards secured on the inside of the doors. Usually they left a opening at the top to get back into the car for unloading. Did CP use the Signode Grain doors on box cars? I know that in the US they used them in the early fifties but the data for CP is not clear.
I should be able to get an answer for you on Fruday evening, so I am hoping to post an reply to your question on Saturday. Sorry for the time delay... Dane
Well, I seem to be between a rock and a hard place. No one I talked to knew the answer, and unfortunatly I forgot to "ask the expert!", but will forward your question for use next week... Sorry, Dane
Thanks for the effort. It will be interesting to get a expert on this one. I can't seem to find anything in my search of books on CP.
