The following is what I've researched of Conrail's disposal of the former NYC lines to CSX Transportation and Norfolk Southern Corp. at its split-up on or about 1999 and wish to verify it for accuracy:

    To CSX:
Boston MA and New York City thru Albany and Buffalo NY to Cleveland OH
    Syracuse-Oswego NY
Syracuse-Watertown-Massena NY to Montreau Que (partly via trackage rights)
    Albany-Poughkeepsie NY
    Rensselaer-Schenectady NY
Albany-Newark NJ (partly via trackage rights)
    Fairport-Chili Jct NY
    Cleveland-Crestline-Columbus OH
    Crestline OH-Marion-Ridgeway-Anderson-Indianapolis IN
    Indianapolis-Crawfordsville IN
Indianapolis northwest, and southeast (Beech Grove IN)
    Detroit north (joint with NS)
    Danville IL east
    Danville IL east

    To NS:
    Lyons-Corning NY
    Ashtabula-Youngstown OH
    Cleveland-Toledo OH-Elkhart-Gary IN-Chicago IL
    Toledo OH-Detroit MI
Cincinnati-Dayton-Columbus-Point Pleasant OH, to Charleston WV and northeast and southeast
    Detroit-Jackson-Kalamazoo MI
    Jackson-Lansing MI
    Gary-Schneider IN
    Schneider IN east
    Hartsdale IN west
    Schneider IN-Kankakee-Hennepin IL

Other former NYC routes to Amtrak, B&M, CN and CPR, Detroit & Mackinac, Hillsdale County, Indiana & Ohio, Kankakee Beaverville & Southern, Michigan Interstate, MoPac, and Ontario Midland

Denny, I wish I could help you, but had been long gone from the area even before ConRail. It looks as though you have certainly done your homework on it, though.

Denny, you apparently have done excellent research. Sadly, I can't help you either. I left the Hudson and Harlem Division area many years before the PC merger, let alone the advent of Conrail.

However, there may be one member, "Harron", who might have the knowledge you wish. He lived in eastern New York State around the time of the Conrail breakup. During that time, he maintained an active interest in railroad activities throughout New York and New England, and often posted his observations and acquired knowledge. Harron has not been active in TB for some time, though he may still monitor TB activity and possibly respond to your request.
