    Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you (or if any of you knew anyone) have any old color images of Santa Fe passenger stock (preferably some sort of roster type shot), whether it be heavyweight, lightweight, Amtrak, post-Amtrak, etc. as I am going to set work on a small project creating a color guide to Santa Fe Passenger Equipment. Head End equipment, business cars and motorcars/doodlebugs/RDCs are fair game as well. If you have anything, please message or email me!

    Wil

-Also, mods if this is the wrong place for this thread, move it to wherever it should go.

Are you looking for material to create an actual book, or just a reference list for yourself? Here's a site that has a lot of photos, but it won't work if you're looking to use the photos for other than personal use. http://passcarphotos.info/

I'm also curious as to what you're intending to do. The SFRHMS offers a series of books covering ATSF passenger equipment (http://atsfrr.com/store/bookPass.htm), and they also have a Painting and Lettering Guide (http://atsfrr.com/store/bookRef.htm) that includes passenger equipment. You might save yourself a lot of trouble if you take a look at their resources first. Here's a good place to start:

I was leaning more towards the book end of things as opposed to a website.

-Ron, I was aware of those titles, but what I had in mind was something that was a lot simpler and not quite as comprehensive, something that would act as more of a general overview covering all eras of Santa Fe equipment (that includes after Santa Fe, so Amtrak and the like).

-Dave, I have heard of that site and frequent it often, but as you said, it wouldn't work for these purposes.

Will, most of the Santa Fe cars I have seen are corregated aluminum sided cars. There is a trio that usually gets attached to any 4449 excursions, the Plaza Santa Fe, the Silver Solarium, and another "Silver", but I think those are ex BN or WP, as they are labeled "California Zephyr." When Santa Fe 3751 ran employee specials from LA to Chicago back in 1992, there was a complete silver train of Santa Fe cars trailing her. I only have old VHS video of it.

I just remembered something that I should have clarified. The color guide refers not to paint schemes but color photographs. I hope that might clear up any confusion.
