I am a happy man! Today we placed the order for our Sherline CNC mill. I am working feverously on all kinds of 3D models of goodies. I see the near future and it consists of cast resin modern automobiles, modern rolling stock, modern loco shells (and maybe mechs), and much more good stuff for Z and N scale...

    It's time to go big-time.

Out of curiosity, what are you using for CAM? I've got access to BobCad, but have read that it isn't that great for 3D models. If you're going straight from 3D models to finish product with a Sherline CNC package then you must have some better software options... inquiring minds want to know!

    Mike,

I have a friend who works for his father-in-law's machine shop. So I have access to the full-blown version of MasterCAM. It's a tad bit overkill for a Sherline, but it has alot of excellent features for detail milling.
