Just wondering- Are there any fans here, of CN railroadiana? I was recently doing a Fallen Flags thread, on New England US companies. And scanned some similar paper from the CN. Any interest? Bates, Maine: Boxcab E50
Neat stuff! I am a Canadian National fan... although not much in my collection yet. Most notable are an old MOW handbook and a couple of circa 1930s luggage tags my great-grandfather used. Andrew
Yes. It is. I can't put up my entire collection. The space used in RailImages would be beyond excessive. I've over 700 CN offices represented. But will link a few more NE US examples shortly. Boxcab E50
Very cool... Do you have any others (or anything else for that matter) dating from CNR's early days (1920s and 30s)? Thanks. Andrew
Andrew- While I do have a lot more, it's virtually all train orders. As they are my passion from prototype railroads. Most that I have, are dated 1950's, and later. Boxcab E50
Those paper orders are really interesting. I can still remember standing at the Brantford station watching the rail crews picking up (via the stringed flimsy) and throwing the rolled pieces of paper from fast moving freights. I imagine that those train orders et al take up alot less space than all my various CN lanterns and signage.
Well, yes. And no. My permanent collection, is in a four drawer file cabinet. Plus several shelves of binders. What eats space, is those boxes of spares. Fortunately, I've whittled that down slowly. Plus, I do have some hardware, signs, etc. On walls and in boxes. Boxcab E50
