I model the UP Kansas Division and have seen some pictures in the UP Historical Society Streamliner magazine of a Wabash E8 arriving in the consist in Denver. Do you have any information about how the power was handled and some dates that these kinds of power sharing occured? I always thought all Wabash power was taken off in KC but since this photo showed a Wabash unit in Denver, it had to go through Kansas. The UP Historical Society so far has been no help.

    Dale,
that's very interesting. Thanks for mentioning it. As far as I know, the power was switched. The only thing I can think of is maybe it was a "special movement" or a heavy holiday train that required extra power. I once saw a picture of an E8 at Moberly, and the caption indicated that it was "assigned" there, which I thought was strange, as it wasn't an end point, and Decatur isn't that far away. Do you know the date of the photo? That might help. I'll keep checking my references.
    Thanks again,
    Bill
