I have a potential business trip for some training in Chesapeake, VA in late March. What's to be seen there? Other than the namesake or origin of the C&O, is there anything historical I need to see? Any places to steer clear? Anyone on here live in that area willing to meet up and play show & tell?
It's been years since I was there, so I'm hoping that someone here can help. N&W coal terminal is at Lamberts Point in Norfolk, the C&O's is north across the James River (Hampton Roads) in Newport News. If you'll have a car and the time Suffolk is 45 minutes west and many lines converge there, but not the C&O main. If nobody can help, I have some detailed railroad map pages that will help you navigate.
@HemiAdda2d , I see there's a new member here named @Cutter who resides in the Tidewater area and might be able to offer some help in railfanning Chesapeake, VA.
