I am enamored with the cars, but yes their lights are finicky and the batteries are junk. Otherwise, these units are quite well-detailed (grabs, paint is crisp, underframes are detailed, interiors are better detailed than katos) and for a car that I plan to own 'till I kick off this mortal coil, I decided to spend the extra $10-15 per car over competitors and go for it. Nice thing about 'em is that it takes a bit between their runs, so you can't blow all your money on a train all at once! I'm stoked to get their NP cars (upcoming Loewy coaches & observations, and butterknife observations and coaches!! Woohoo!)
