I have the track charts of the CB&Q and a number of ETT's from different years and divisions of the lines from Chicago to K.C., St Louis, and Omaha. I was wondering if anyone has any info concerning businesses along the branchlines that covered southern Iowa and northern Missouri. Or, if there are any books that cover CB&Q branchlines east of the Missouri River. Thanks in advance!

    Trainman,

One of the sources you'll want to look at is Bernard Corbin's "Across Iowa on the Keokuk and Western and Humeston and Shenandoah". Rob Adams also has a website devoted to the K&W which will come up if you do a Google search. I'm researching and modelling the railroads that came into Keokuk so all of this is an interest of mine as well. I'd be glad to be able to share info, especially if you've got some first hand operational details to share!
