Grantha brought up (indirectly) a good point. I do not think we will ever see Kato or Atal making a Canadian prototype engine. But, I have found that atleast they are producing the road names, so I am semi happy. It does meen that we, the consumer must change it, but for popular demand they do the US style. Of course, there are always small companies doin stuff for Canada, and Canada only!

    A proud flag waver!

    Happy Railroading!!

Catt, I can walk from my house into Canada in about 3 minutes. When you go thru the drive thru window at McDonalds (or anywhere) they ask you if you are paying in American or Canadian. If you ask someone what time it is they ask American time or Canadian time. If you meet a new person the first question is if you are an American, Canadian, or a dually.

While it is North America, I have never met a Canadian that would accept being called an American - and the population here is mostly Canadian. Although, there are a number of Canadians in this area that we refer to as "wannabees" since they try to make people think they are from the U.S.

I wouldn't want a Canadian to say they are American. That wasn't what I was pointing out.The thing is we are neibors like it or not.I know of some tourists traps that i swear can smell Canuck blood from a hundred paces and will rip them off every chance they get.I am in complete agreement that there should be more Canadian specific models made.I see CP SD40-2s everyday and even some red barns quite frequently. Have even seen a large assortment of CN stuff parade through GR.This is gettin long winded so I shut up fur now.

Whew!! so lets get on with this topic. Railroading in this continent is some of the best in the world but before I get into trouble with Europe or Australia I must agree that most layouts are about US railroads for the most part and manufactures recognize that fact so all I can say Canadians is create Canadian layouts and maybe we will eventually see some manufacturer supporting us. We are blessed to live in a country with such friendly neighbours, who go out of their way to help answer questions and give advice on this great hobby we share. [IMG]
