The following story is making the news group rounds. I normally don't like to post rumour, and this particular story has all the classic urban myth teltales (unspecified date, unnamed victims, a location that most people would not be familiar with, etc) and I've done some google searches and can't find the story on any official sites. However - I post this here because it gives an idea of what stories are circulating. True or False, this story make it clear that RR employees are on edge. Take care railfanning! Do it in numbers, in the day, in very public locations, etc...
True or not I do not know but I can certainly say that I did not see any mention of this today on the Associated Press national summaries at the radio station. Charlie

I think your urban myth theory might be right, either that or it's an old story that someone has dragged up, or someone just has the details wrong. I can't believe that when there is a well publicised FBI warning out about attacks on transportation that nobody would be covering the story.
No, and the Buffalo news pages at the link I posted above (which gave details down to people being mugged, births, changes in what the local rubbish tip allows you to deposit, minor road accidents etc) didn't have any info either...?
That is a TRUE story but not to that exact scenario. He was shot with a 22 cal. And he is doing fine. They saw her run through the cars.
