We had a great trip this weekend on the Camp Verde RR in Central Arizona. I would highly suggest the trip if anyone has the time and is in the area. the main units that were pulling our train were FP7's from 1953 that came from Alaska RR before they were restored by the CVRR. I also included pics of there other diesals, a gp7 gp9 and I am not sure what the other one is, please fill me in. Thanks and enjoy.
Cool beans. I haven't ridden it yet, but we are planning to, maybe in the fall. Right now is really good weather-wise, looks like you had some fun! Did your trip go all the way back to the ranch with the station?

Yes we went all the way to perkinsville and then the AA set comes around and hooks to the caboose and takes you back. In the first picture you can see it coming round...I will try and post some more.
Not much of a station actually but within a few feet. They roll you right past it and you can also see the base for the old water tower that they blew up in the making of How the West was Won.
It's an ex-ATSF GP9u. The "Topeka" cab is a good spotting feature. One of those GP9's is ex-SP. Not sure about that other high-nose GP7. Chad
Here is a link to the website for the railroad. That must be some pretty awesome scenery..............any railroad that still has F-units and an unmodified, unchopped GP7 is aces in my book.
Yes the GP7 and GP9 are both in working condition and used the GP9u is not however and is on a siding with some old coaches. Here is one of the many bridges you cross on the trip.
