    Hi

I have an Atlas C630 where the front drive shaft from the flywheel does not turn the trucks. The rear truck pushes to turn the front turcks. To move the loco, the powercab has be on almost maximum power.

Is there a way to increase friction on the plastic part that sits inside the fly wheel on the the shaft?

    Cheers

    Hi!

In the most cases is the universal ball point that sits in the worm shaft to loose and spins. You can pull it off and put a tiny drop of glue into the hole and then put the shaft back again.
Before you go thus far check if the worm is spinning freely and the truck gears as well.

    Regards

The two common points of failure are the Male Universal (540104) and the Universal Ball Joint (490003). I believe I've read that the problem was limited to a specific production run (inferior plastic used in the parts or something, causing them to degrade/crack over time). It's a problem that Atlas is very familiar with and I'm sure they'd be happy to supply you with the appropriate replacement parts (or even do the repairs for you). But failing that, yes, using a bit of super glue on the offending part(s) to hold them more firmly in place should solve the problem.

    Thanks Mathi and Mark

I looked again and found a split in the male universal joint ring.

Just super glued the universal joint ring and will try it later.

To cover my bases, I ordered a bunch of small parts for my C630 and CP35's as well.

    Thanking you
