What would be the shade of green I am looking for to paint C&S coach 70 and a baggage car. Also is the roof of C&S ng passenger equipment dark green or black?
    Thanks,
    Alex

As mandated by the USRA passenger cars from 1917 were either Pullman green or olive green. The C&S used the olive (lighter) green on their cars. The roof was black.

    Hope that helps,

Thank you all for the help, now if only someone could restore the 911, it sure needs it.

I'd prefer to see #2 restored before the 911....as #911 is under roof. I took both my 1879 model of the #40 (C&S #1) and 1880s model of the #911 (as #051) to my local NMRA meet this week. Someone knocked #051 to the floor...glad she was still under construction and so she'll be easier to repair. #40 and #051 still got 1st place despite their incompleteness (#40 needs underframe details, #051 did need brake rigging, an interior, and window glazing...now she needs more).

During the late 1880s, one could possibly see DSP&P cars in maroon, chocolate brown, dark plum, and UP olive green. I can't recall if the early C&S equipment had scroll work or not...but the post-1885 South Park stuff did.

Chris, I hadn't realized that the USRA made such a mandate. Interesting info!
