Canadian Pacific Railway's Service Bulletins. _____________________________________________ Current Shipment Delays The following is intended to provide updated information on the situation(s) impacting traffic moving through, to and from the identified corridor(s). While it provides an accurate overall account of the current situation, we caution that some shippers may experiene service somewhat different from what is described in this report. SERVICE AREA REPORTS Ontario Service Area; DERAILMENT Background: At 04:00 EST April 17, 3 rail cars derailed from train 911-16 near Mactier ON located between Sudbury and Toronto, Ontario . Our mainline between Sudbury and Toronto was closed. Update: CPR Field Operations cleared the accident site and opened the mainline at 01:00 April 18. Normal Operations have resumed. St Paul Service Area; FLOODING Update #4; 04/19/2001 Snow melt and heavy rain in Minnesota and North Dakota have caused the Mississippi River rise to a level which has resulted in flooding in St. Paul Yard. The river crested today at 23.5 feet in St. Paul and CPR has activated recovery plans. CPR's main line between St. Paul and New Lisbon, Minnesota is currently operating as capacity permits. Detours and reroutes commenced at 18:00 CST April 15 and will continue until the water recedes to a level at which normal operations can be resumed. Embargoes are being evaluated individually and will be lifted as the water recedes. It is expected that restricted operations will continue for approximately one week. Although it is difficult to accurately predict the length delays, it is estimated that shipments traveling through and within the US Midwest will experience delays of up to 48 hours.
These Service Bulletins are as informative as the IAMOKA Site, but from a different perspective. I wonder if there is enough interest and enough members with access to Bulletins from different roads to have a separate Service Bulletin heading? Hank
Sounds feasable, but, then again, it would have to be divided into specific railroads, ie: CP, CN, UP, BNSF, CSX, NS........might just be as easy to leave em where they are, and date em Jon
Jon, you have a good point. I was looking at it more from a generic viewpoint, sort of a big picture of happenings around the continent, country, or region, not necessarily road specific. Hank
