I just learned the there is another auction site for N-scale items. You can buy or sell without any fees! Take a look and see what you think. Perhaps this can be better than eBay if we give it our support. It can be found by going to Brooklyn Locomotive Works website.

I have been following this site for months... it possibly COULD be a competitior to eBay, but has not worked out that way. As of today, it has a total of 143 items listed, versus eBay's 551 items in N scale. However, only 7 items on the BLW site have any bids, versus over well over 100+ eBay items I counted, and only looked at the first 10 (of 61) pages! What does that mean? eBay generates the traffic that BLW's site does not. I have tried to sell on the BLW site and can tell you it is disappointing compared to eBay. Yes, I wish there was a successful place to buy and sell N scale items auction style w/o any fees, but it has not happened yet. I wish the best for BLW's site and hope it succeeds... but it has yet to prove itself to the online auction community. Too bad for all of us!

Nscaleauction has been round for a while..
Thing I find is prices are a little high..? or is it just me.

Not many know its there so bidding is usually only 1 person to an item.

I have tried to contact sellers for information but no replies. Same I contacted the site itself for help contacting sellers and nothing back...

You can clean up if you find a bargain!

I would agree that the proces on NSAuction are in general high compared to eBay. There are so few sellers (and it appears fewer buyers [IMG] )that they are not listing items at nearly as deep of a discount. Plus, most of the items listed on NSA are "current" and still available items, while eBay does have more older and collectible items.

As far a contact, the NSA site makes it difficult. For sellers, it lets you "post" a question about an item, but does not give you a direct contact e-mail address [I think this is true, or was true when I tried it last several months ago]. As a seller, you have to go into what's called Auction Management to find and respond to these posts. It is cumbersome, at best. Plus, if you cannot look at past history of you bidding activity. (I thought I had won an item, but did not get contacted by the seller.. and had no way to verify this once the auction was over!)Plus, there is no "support" or extensive help resources, like on eBay.

I also agree with you about the bargains: if someone posts something you want with a low opening bid, chances are you can win it cheap due to the lack of other bidders!
