Anyone have a list which is known to be complete? All those I can find seem to miss a few. For example, what destination is "LPC"?
Logistics Park Chicago Found this website: http://www.qstation.org/bnsf/bnsfsymbols.html I don't it's complete, bu maybet a good representation.
Greg- As you are in the vicinity, perhaps you can answer this- I don't understand the listing of BVU as Wilburton. There's nothing at Wilburton and it has not truly been a separate community since I was a youth. Wasn't the little Wilburton siding was gone decades ago? In fact, I don't believe there is even any track these days with the I-405 work? Confusing to me!
Probably stands for Bellevue. The track no longer goes under the highway. The line is separated at 405. The north half was sold to a short line. The south half up to Scopa was kept by BNSF so they can still serve Boeing's Renton plant. --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?f1ld3t Greg Amer The Industrial Lead gregamer.com
Hmmm. Looking at that list, they show BEL as Bellevue? And Belen, NM. Kinda strange. I can't wait for the day when someone remembers a need for rail commuter service along the east side of Lake WA and wishes that line had not been severed.
BTW- A photo on the "Wilburton" trestle: http://www.train-orders.com/RFAN/BNRR/BNRR.html Scroll down teh page. Please forgive my lousy quality slide scanner. Note the little caption story about that trestle, from long ago.
That's a cool web page. It's neat to see places as they were years ago, some of them were easily recognizable. My Engine class had a group of guys from Belen. Never even heard of it before that, but I do believe its symbol is BEL. --- I am here: http://tapatalk.com/map.php?tsxlgo Greg Amer The Industrial Lead gregamer.com
I found another page with a list which seemed better. Bookmarked it and now I cannot find the bookmark! (Grumble, grumble!) Anyhow, that list still did not show LPC, however it did show BEL as Belen. BVU/Wilbuton and BEL/Bellevue were not on it. I am thinking the list I saw last week was assembled as a mingling of old and newer information.
