So I've been applying for a track maintenance welder position with bnsf since January I had gotten a couple responses and unfortunately couldn't make some. Finally I'm able to attend this one in Texas. I'm coming from California. Just would like some advice from some of you guys that have been through this process. A little about me and my welding career so far. I'm 28 I've been in welding for 10yrs working for shops I find this opportunity with bnsf to be my chance to make a good life long career with welding. I have my d 1.1 cert as well as pressure vessel cert. Completed fabrication school and have a cert with that as well. Any info will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have to believe this is the time of year when they will need more welders. Coming out of winter, there will be more intense inspections and repairs. Then upgrade work, with programs for laying new rails.

Keep us posted on your progress, and good luck!

I'm working on getting hired with BNSF, myself (albeit not as a welder). Best of luck to you!
