Nice catch! I like that 1080 Alan! It's in my favorite of the BNSF schemes and it feels like those are disappearing faster than the Mac's in the green and cream.
Seems like it sometimes! Most of the H1's are -9's with DC motors, therefore high up on the chopping block.
The Beach local was returning to town as I headed up to a job site. It is fun to see the 40's NOT just switching in the yard!
It has been a while since I last railfanned and caught a unit from this number series. Guess I need to get out more often!
A string od dead and heading elsewhere for disposition units. A pair of MAC's and older GE's, This dead MAC left town in tow from storage also, even thought the previous 4 are still sitting here 2 days later. And last, a lost NS in service. It left here trailing on an eastbound freight today.
A string of GE's was waiting to leave and I was able to catch them earlier this week. It has been slow for traffic this weekend, too. Anyway, this train had some neat old cars in the consist!
Thanks!! I like the variety, especially with the older cars. Long coal and oil and grain is ok, but gets kinda blah after a few in a row. A mixed mish-mash is a lot of eye-candy!
A view or two from the last week, "Stickers," Coal waiting, almost "4567...." And at the 'Whistlestop' crossing... the DPU, One of a few BN hoppers, I was just able to catch the head end.
Seems as though every year, in late winter to early springtime, there are a bunch of greens that show up.
