Nice pictures, Lion. They go well with William Cowie's. Did you guys see each other? How fast was it going out there? Is that a Budweiser truck at the crossing? BTW, lots of white sand out there. Reminds me of the beach in Florida!
Many of these are Frame Grabs from a video and I hope to have some MPEG clips loaded later so you can hear and see the action. I saw many other Railfans but never had a chance to ask who was who so there is a chance I was standing right next to fellow members and never knew it. Believe it or not, this was my first true Train Chase so I THANK all those that put up with me.
I caught up to the train on my way south to Big Lift. Never mde it that far!! And even managed to set up for the train show, and STILL get more video of the train as it passed by, about a mile north of the stockshow complex. Even managed some video as the train moved into a siding at the refinery. However, nothing after that, as it was starting to get a bit nippy and dark. Plus, I needed to save whatever gas I could for the return trip to Denver Saturday. Used Moms camera for the event. But, I do have 4-5 pics to share, including a panoramic view, IF it turns out, of train on bridge crossing over Santa Fe Drive. Shot from the north side of bridge. Plus a few others from about 2 miles north of that point. Will have to wait until photos come back from developing though. Had some minor battery problems with my digital. Chose not to use it Saturday. I saw quite a few folks shooting pictures while I was out and about. Even had the opportunity to talk to Don(Odyssey) at the gas station near the tracks. Over all, not a bad day for someone who was on the move for about 27 hours!
Hey, we were both there at the same time! I was on the other side of the tracks next to the signal.
First Video clip loaded into my RailImages; but Dial-ups (like me ) beware. It's a short clip of just the car but I plan to upload more as I get time.
