I meet and talked to the Project Manager for the refinery that is the owner of the vessel and they are expecting unload and movement this weekend. If the weather stays good some good pictures are forthcoming. Steve
Got lucky and took some pictures - not as good as Steve or Jeremy, but better than nothing. To spare the folks with modems, I posted them in a separate thread. http://www.trainboard.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi/ubb/get_topic/f/25/t/000415.html? Perhaps Steve and others can add their pictures to that thread in deference to those who don't have unlimited bandwidth...
Definately interested in a copy of movie as well. Will put a M/O in the mail ASAP. Just waiting, like everyone else, to know if and/or when. Another thing I'm wondering: Will this be VHS tape or DVD, IF made available to those interested??
If all else fails, I can take my ~30 mins of video and stills and combine it with everyone elses images and make something out of that for those that want to participate in a joint production. [ April 21, 2005, 02:51 PM: Message edited by: Stourbridge Lion ]
Is anyone trying to get a photo of the Schnabel car in its compressed configuration before it leaves the area? It would be interesting to see the difference in size.
This is one project I can't contribute to! What a shocker! I look forward to the finished product, though!
Keith, Let's talk offline (PM/Email) about how you can get me a copy of your video (& images) as I think I can put together about 45-60 minutes based on what I have so far that can be made into a collage of Video and Slide Show presentation. Hey Russ, anything we can include from the southern portion of the route? All, I only looking at doing this as "fun" personal-use project (i.e. not for any sort of profit) so once created those that want a copy I'm thinking will just need to send me a blank VHS/DVD in a SASE and I will make a copy onto that blank and send it right back. All material contributed will remain the copyright of the photographer/company; but, I think putting these all together and sharing the results will only make it better and something we can all enjoy for years to come.
I really appreciate what you doing. Please include me in the notification when you are ready to distribute. Thanks BTW, when you say SASE, do you mean a sturdy padded envelope that will hold and protect a VHS tape or DVD in a jewel case?
I'll drop an E-Mail Friday afternoon sometime. Testing for possible Post Office mail carrier spot Friday at Noon. Expected to take about 2 1/2 hours!
Once I have everyone's contributions and the final cut made reviewed I will let you know how to obtain copies.
