Im Jason and im 53 and making a return to model railroading. THe bug bit again with joining a club. Im now wanting to build a switching layout at home using hollow core doors. Im looking for ideas on how to add legs to doors and also track plan ideas.
I built mine on a hollow core door. https://www.trainboard.com/highball/index.php?threads/blue-top-rr.155649/#post-1304065
If you are looking for just a switching layout visit the site below, it has several ideas you could consider. I incorporated the timesaver plan in my layout but any of these could be done as standalone layout projects. https://www.wymann.info/ShuntingPuzzles/index.html
Welcome! Way back when in the "previous century," there was the suggestion of buying already assembled fold-up legs which would attach directly to the underside of the layout. Assuming these are still available, that is a relatively easy, though likely more expensive, possibility. There have also been modelers who take advantage of shelving systems as supports for layout boards. Those Ikeans... they really know what they're doing sometimes.
