Well Trekkie was right, I ended up with a Bachman GP50 in a trade and suprise, it runs very well, a little noisy but it runs well, The high nose on the SF warbonnet is questionable but it does run good. Go figure! Kevin
what ever happened to that guy?he was so funny.and we all got a very good laugh out of him.trekkie where are you? ------------------ ed pinkley home of the pinkley taurus
I may be wrong, but wasn't SOUTHERN RAILWAY the only railroad that had the GP 50? I would check my SOUTHERN Engine Roster, but I have loaned it out to a friend. That is the reason that the GP 50 has the high hood. The Bachmann engine may run good now, but don't plan on it running like that much longer! ------------------ Let's Go Run Trains MARK
do you mean just high hood gp50's or gp50's in general. the up has em the mopac had them and the bn, sf, and cnw. as for high hoods the southern and nw had them, now there are in the dreaded ns scheme of things. ------------------ fly with route of the eagles.rock n roll all night and railroad everyday!
Here's a rundown on what's turning out to be my favorite EMD resource... http://fuh_q.tripod.com/model/gp50.htm
I guess I mainly only ment the drive was good, it is a split frame like the SD40-2, The shell is ok and would be better if it had the right nose on it for a Santa Fe model. Oh well I don't plan on running it in my fleet. Kevin
Trekkie is still here but he's not saying anything! ------------------ fly with route of the eagles.rock n roll all night and railroad everyday!
