My first attempt at an AZL loco re-paint.

Quite happy with the result apart from one of the number boards being slightly crooked.

NICE! Looks good. And only “you” will ever know that one of the number boards is a hair off. And in a week, you’ll have moved on to your next project, and then you’ll forget all about it in a month. Speaking from experience....

Where did you get those decals? I would love to repaint a few locos in PC but I’m not sure where to get the decals and how did you do the number boards?
    Seriously looks great!

I drew up the decals using Inkscape (free SVG file editor), converted the file to PDF and sent it to a local decal printer here in Australia. I'm not sure what printer the company uses but they are printed at 600dpi on thin film decal paper. The decals turned out quite nice - the number boards are easy to read.

It took quite a few attempts to get the number board decals on properly. Had to make use of a large lighted magnifier as well as my specs, tweezers and lots of patience. The thin decals are quite difficult to handle - luckily I had several copies printed on the same sheet because I went through a few!

    Decal printer here in Oz:

Looks great. I haven’t seen anybody do reprints in z scale in while.
