This will all be tree covered to hide the tracks going into the backdrop. The SP line here heads to Ozal Yard.
Nice and level. One more section of sub-roadbed benchwork to fit in here. I may leave a small gap and put a bridge in somewhere. Again, modelers licence.
Your rate of progress scares me! If I was that fast, I'd be done with my layout by now! That will be one marvelous layout when done.
Jerry - Sorry to hear about your back. At least you've got some helpers! I sprained my ankle running a few months ago, and couldn't get down to the basement for a week or so when I was on crutches...that was a bummer, so I can sympathize! Do you have a line on Eucalyptus trees? I could use some for my layout also -- are you going to scratch build them, or buy them commercially?
No line on Eucalyptus trees Dave. As you know the leaves are pretty unique on these trees. I will probably go with a big Woodland Scenic dark green foliage tree, and work the trunk to look like the peeling trunks of these trees.....unless someone comes out with a 'real' Eucalyptus tree before that.
I'm a little disoriented, and far from a California native, but if you're modeling anything around Martinez, the thing that I though was the most interesting from the train was the ruins of the old SP ferry slip, complete with the wreckage of the ferry still in the water (boiler, I think). That would make a cool model. Just complicating your life, hey, glad to help, anytime!
Well luckily I didn't get the shot to the back today. Going to have a Miogram done later. The bad news, I still hurt like heck. The good news, I could finish the ATSF line. I did leave a small gap for a small bridge or colvert.
Jerry, I am glad to hear you did not need shot, but am sorry you are still in pain. I quess working on the railroad helps. by the way the company i work for sell hog wild mats which are very good . They are for people who stand on their feet and work They also say they are for bad backs becuse the pressure on your feet is less. They cost about $40. If you are interested let me know. I will be out of town until Sunday. Going to a train con in Louisville. Alan
Thanks Alan! Kimberly works at Riverview Medical Center here in Gadsden, and brought me home a nice back brace. It got adjustable lumbar this and that. It is really surprising how much pain they can reduce!
Its a good thing your hurt, otherwise the layout would be done by now.mg: Man,your working fast. Its really starting to take shape. :shade:
Very nice did not realize you were so close to Meridian, MS. Hope your back is feeling better. What are you using as far as plastering material?
