um brent no offense but if you want to talk review and inspection maybe you should take heed to your words and put your modules there so people can REVIEW AND INSPECT them? why are you just now starting on this inspection pit kick? everyone has always posted things about new n stuff here before. maybe you should do away with that room since you are a moderator.

I just checked the Inspection Pit and no reviews of the SD35 there and there aren't any here either. If you got one or two or ten tell us what you think. I think the N scalers would rather see it here. I as well seldom venture outside of the N scale forum.

I agree I hardly go outside the "N Pages" except when things are a little slow I will go browse some of the other stuff. Of course now that DCC has it's own forum I have been going there daily as well. My 3.2345 cents worth is that if it is N scale, why not have it in the N scale forum. I will not conform dude......unless you make me [IMG]

i will have to agree also.i check this page for new n scale stuff. when i read the inspection pit index it says for train club shows and events. i think modules for a train club kinda fits under that topic.the review of a new locomotive has been posted here several times before without anything being said.some explaining on this would be very helpful.

It would be a huge hassle for almost every one to go to the IP, and then N scale, and then any other boards. There are people here not really interested in that board, so you should allow them to stay here and hear about this stuff.

    Happy Railroading!!

Got my SD35's (Pennsy 6018 & 6025) today. I do believe you will like this locomotive. Have not run it but did try out the new coupler. Worked well with MT's and I think it looks better too. This is a very impressive looking engine.

Finally got a review from some one today. They got the decoder version. They programmed it quickly, put it on the track, stuck a GP35 in the lead, and started to run. He said they ran fairly smoothly together, the SD35 however was great. He was happy with the general detail, but founbd some sections alittle thick, or thin.

    He gave it 9/10

Ok, I tried to post this earlier so I'll give it another shot. The masses have spoken! Go ahead and talk about the SD35 here if that's what you want to do, fine with me. If E-8 and everyone else decides to deep-six the Inspection Pit, that's cool too. It seems to be a problem with pushing extra buttons for some of you to look at another Forum. So, if E-8 says "let's end it", then we will. As far as me posting things about my N-Trak Modules here. It was intended to be info shared about me starting over and what was envolved. I invited others to share similar experiances on the subject and what they also went through. It was never intended to be a review of my work. If anyone wants to say anything positive or negitive about the work I've done, feel free. That's how we share ideas and learn from others. But remember, we are here for fun and not to start any wars by name calling and eye-poking. Leave that to the "stooges" of other forums. [IMG]

Now back to the subject,(before you narrow minded nerds started to pick hairs)I just recieved my Atlas SD-35's (I bought nine of them)and I like them. The Chessie paint is a little off but I can fix that. They look great and run very smooth.I'll have at least two in blue very soon. The high hood's are so awsome that i've got to find a way to have at least one Southern run thru.Too bad you modern guy's are out of luck!!!!!

Royal Blue, No we modren modelers are not out of luck, at least we here in the east can run them until 1992, as that was when the last (ex-SOU)unit was sold off to the chop shops :p. As for the other 35s, the N&W units, I will at least paint 2 of them into a F6 (big white NW) scheme and at least one for NS, as they worked Lambert's point until finally being retired. Any of you westerners could use the Highhood units (ex-N&W, MRL) up into the early 90s and then follow prototype and chop them, hey who ever said the west had it best surely never visited the Piedmont Division of Norfolk Southern and the Norfolk Division likewise [IMG]. So many tuxedos, hamburgers, and running ponies and so little time. Y'all (just the way we southeast coasters say YOU ALL) have a good one, Justin

Thanks to everyone for their opinions on this thread, as well as the ideas of keeping the reviews in the scale specific area.

Royal Blue, this narrow minded nerd if that's what you wanna call me thinks you should post it in the inspection pit, since your prez. says that's where this belongs supposedly.

    Bacon,
Nobody called you a narrow minded nerd so pull in your spurs please. And I guess you haven't read the rest of this topic carefully. It has been decided that any review that is "Scale Specific" is to be done in that Forum. So please, if you have a review on this or any other N-Scale Loco, car, or product, post it in this Forum. So lets get back on subject and do a review. Thanks and enjoy! [IMG]

I really hate being perceived as a bad guy but there is not any reason that I can think of why posts on this board should get into petty personal insults, jabs, name calling, etc. That type of thing is not why this web site exists.

So, I will simply delete posts such as the one that formerly occupied this spot - which I deleted.

The "controversy" about which forum to post reviews in is not the fault of Maxwell Plant - it is mine. Although it appeared to be that he was telling people where to post, he was simply following a directive which came from me. I erred in giving him an instruction previously so it is my fault, not his.

All posts relating to scale specific discussions belong in that scale's forum with the possible exception of DCC. You can post N Scale DCC items here if you like but you will probably have better results in the DCC Forum.

Any topic relating to modeling but not scale specific such as "Making Water," or "Scenery" belongs in The Inspection Pit Forum, as well as any other "general" model railroading posts.

    Thank you,

    Charlie
