Of course knew of Rio Grande Hobbies going out of business sale and I have ordered from them since they were in Kentucky. I placed an order on the website early Thursday morning for some locos and it did not take off the 20%. Anyways, the website now says that is fixed. Has anyone heard of a successful order from Wayne from this sale (been contacted in other words). Wayne is not picking the phone up nor answering emails. Anyways, good prices but I don't know if I really spent any money so I figured I would check with anyone who may have placed an order. BTW - do not let the posting cause any negative comments - I just wanted to check on successful order statuses from ayone who may have done so.

We cannot police every transaction by every retailer or etailer: it is simply beyond our powers as a forum. We recognize that people would like to ask questions, but attacks like this backhanded one won't be tolerated. If this thread stay informative, then i'll let it stay. There is a common interest here. But if it degrades, like these threads usually do, it will disappear. I think we've established some pretty clear rules that we'll stand by, and try to refine over time in order to better serve our members.
Thank you, JDG. I don't have time right now to clean up the rest of this thread. These type of topics are the bane of forums, because we mods and admins can never be "correct" in our judgments about them. Should it stay or should it be locked or should it just disappear? I just don't possess that wisdom. I think simple queries are fine, but they invariably lead down a path to the sewer. Should I watch a thread like this all night, or do something like run trains on my layout? I think we've been clear on this issue. There's always wiggle room. We try to get better every day.
The shopping cart is fixed and the additional 20% is taken off as soon as it goes in the basket. As soon as I finished the order, I checked and the two engines that had a qty of 1 where removed from the website, so that's working as well. Haven't been charged yet, but it could take a few days. If I'm not charged, nothing lost. I'll let you know if it goes through. Brian

To those that aen't sure what they got or if they got the 20% off. Go to the homepage and click on your account. Go to recently placed orders and click on the invoice number. It comes up with the items you actually got and the total. I only received about half of what I ordered
I screwed up my order and now can't seem to fix it. I can't imagine dealing with the frenzy surrounding those prices and how fast they must have been inundated. My mistake, my lesson. But, since I cnt tell my family this, I'm whinin like a kid that lost all his Christmas toys.... I'll pout for a bit and get over it. Wish I knew about his prices on DCC 2-8-8-2s a week earlier, I'da bought 1 at that price. Sniff, sniff.
My order is now showing as completely cancelled. I went for one of the LL 2-8-8-2's in N&W. Guess he didn't have too many of them. I have one from the 1st run but wanted a sound equipped one. Kinda got used to it on the Athearn steamers. Anyways, hope someone else enjoys.
Mine says accepted and backordered? Well I won't be upset if in the order processing some things went awry.
Well, there are a lot of people coming in looking for the bargains. I know I checked yesterday about some Digitrax items. I was unable to see the discount, so I thought I would table it. I went back today and all the items have sold out. The important thing, I think, is that it looks like the inventory system is working correctly now. I would rather have an order get canceled than have it get charged and then have a problem getting the charges reversed later. Thanks for keeping this informative and keeping the tone civil, folks! I placed an order very early Thursday morning when quantities were not being shown and the discount was not included at checkout. I now see that three of the items I ordered have been invoiced, but the others have not. There is no indication the other items have been canceled and I see quantities are still available on their site. Wonder if the missing items will invoiced and shipped separately.
I forgot to check this morning, but after a quick check it has moved to accepted, so all is well.... Brian
Ordered yesterday and now shows as accepted. Looks like i will be getting my decoders, mp15 & nw2. Makes me a happy camper Must be very hectic right now at Rio Grande.
