I am interested if there are other layouts like mine out there. At 42" by 96", it is moderate in size, but folds up to 42" by 56" by 12" and fits in my truck. If interested, check it out at: http://www.geocities.com/nscaler_55
    Enjoying this new site.

    Thanks!

I made mine to be portable and re-arrangable. It's 4 modules totaling 13' by 1.5' with 2.5' turnaround modules.

My exhibition layout is a single piece 8ft X 2ft module incorporating a hidden fiddle yard. It used to fit into the back of my station wagon but now is relegated to the trailer. It travels well sometimes up to 600kms a trip. (I live in country South Australia) See it at http://www.dove.net.au/~mepham

Here it is extended, one foot by five feet.

My Friend and I are working on his portable and light Layout.
    • It is a 4' x 8' DC Layout.
    • Can use up to 3 separate power packs. We can simultaneously run 3 Trains without interfering with any of the three tracks.
    • All Kato Track.
    • The layout is 6" of foam surround on all sides by 1/4" plywood glued to the foam and screwed into the 2x2 dowels in each corner.
    • The bottom has a 3" wooden frame to protect the wiring.
    • The whole thing weights less than 25 pounds.
