good luck, i believe the phase v was released thru walthers and is a bit of a rare bird that attracts a high price!

When walthers made them they were limited run. So you may have to pay the higher price. Or get one of the athearn ones with the older paint scheme and the microscale decals made with the phase V scheme and paint it yourself. I will be doing this.

I just ordered one of the Atlas Dash-8's in phase V due out this summer, if you need another option.

There is one of the AMD 103 (road #16) walthers edition (made by athearn) on ebay right now. I would bid on it but I already have it.

Just did a complete search on ebay and found three different units, three different road numbers. I bid on one. They are decent but looks like you will be paying around $100 for it due to the scarcity and popularity of them.

The engines at walthers are limited run. Don't know when they will make more. They are coming out with new superliners though with the phase V on them.

    bachmann aint

The bachmann amfleets aren't so bad. I have some regionals and phase v ones. I also added a few details to my cafe regional for cab car operation (although the mechanism and light board need repairs). I myself am thiking of getting some superliners to make a secondary consist. But a $50 a superliner that's alittle too expensive!

Sounds like my dilema. I need protypical stuff for my railroad. I need the most current locos and rolling stock. I bought the AMD 103 in Phase 4 paint thinking it was the most recent one. After I got it, I realized that Phase 5 is the most current. Oh well. I did see a Phase 5 AMD loco in a Trainland/Trainworld ad in Model Railroader for the same prices as the Phase 4's and Phase 3's. I have no idea if the offer still goes.

    Good luck.

If I find one I might buy one and use both.

A little off topic... I really miss the Superliner coaches. The new Viewliners do nothing for me.
