Just wondering if enough of these are in circulation, so that someone has looked at a way to fill in the tinplate pilot, to allow installation of a scale coupler? Boxcab E50
Good news Ken. A friend of mine in the SF Bay Area got one in SP. He said the paint is real good and you can frame mount the S scale Kadee couplers. There is a pad and it already has the holes for it. I guess it would be a matter of cutting a couple of strips of styrene to fill it in and paint them. Unlike the SD60 which has no easy way to frame or body mount them. I should have mine by the end of next week. I will dually record it and post some detail shots here. Greg [ 14. Sounds good. Will be happy to see some close in photos. Also, any thoughts you'd have on using Sergent Engineering couplers? Boxcab E50
I just spent an hour chasing Kadee springs and SHS screws. I was changing out the AF wheel sets on my SW-1 with code 110 and installing the Kadee's. Kadee springs aren't the recomended coffee additive of the day. I understand the Sergent couplers need to be assembled to. At least they don't have those springs, boing. Greg
After exploring the Sergent site, decided I really liked the looks. Like the real thing I used to grunt and sweat to repair....... Boxcab E50
Looking down you can see some nice detail and some gapping holes in the pilot. It does run nice and some good ol'e fashioned model work it will look better. Greg
