I don't recall that. But the newest (Feb. or Mar., 014) "Trains" Mag. will have entire story, rehabilitation, and (I think) roll date. thanks, M
#4014 is being moved out onto live rail in the early morning hours of Jan. 26th, then will be on display at the Covina Metrolink depot from 7 to 8 AM. Then it goes to UP's shops in Colton for preparation for the tow to Cheyenne, where it will undergo a 3-to-5 year restoration project to return it to steam. John
This stage of the move should provide us with further interesting videos. I'm looking forward to seeing what might turn up on YouTube, or?
I live in Long Beach, but my hometown is Claremont. I did paid a visit when they did gandy-dancing-leap-froggin Big Boy on track. Then, they had like long winter break before the Jan 26th announcement. Regardless, once the Big Boy complete its restoration, it will return back to LA, under its own power I assume, for anniversary (I forgot for what). Looking forward for that!!
