I am interested in building an S scale model setup. The reason is that during this pandemic I started buying 1:64 scale cars (Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Greenlight, Auto world, etc) as something to do since I would see them at grocery stores and that was mostly what was open during lockdown. Now I am looking to incorporate a simple oval layout with cars in the middle so S scale seems to be what I need to make everything scale appropriate. I came across this site through pinterest as it would show backgrounds that I could use form this site. So that is why I joined this site to get ideas on layouts and find things I could print out in S scale. HO scale seems to be the most popular scale and it is close to S scale so I may end up doing that so I am looking to see if anyone incorporated 1:64 cars into their layouts. Mahalo.
Welcome aboard Troy. Sounds like a cool plan. Mixing S autos and HO trains may look a little strange but if the cars are far enough forward and the trains are set back on the layout it could work. One of my friends used Z scale autos and buildings in his background on an N scale layout and it worked out real well.
Welcome to TrainBoard Troy! For cars, as long as you don't have any true HO scale (1/87) cars on the layout, it just might work. However, you will for sure notice the scale difference with 1/64th scale trucks.
