Hello I use NCE to run my rails but my issue is I have one loco with a Digitrax decoder that when I set up an advanced consist that loco works fine until there is an interruption to the power then it won’t restart until I re-add it to the consist. The interruption can be a short or simply turning the power off and coming back to it it’s dead. CV19 has the number of the consist retained but it will not start until the-adding it. I have reset the chip many times with no luck. Any thoughts besides ditching it.
    Cheers

I'll move this to our DCC Forum.

This is an issue with the Digitrax Decoder. Their implementation of Advanced Consisting is stored on the Command Station not in the locomotive. So the Digitrax decoder is waiting for the Command Station to refresh the consist. This may not be how NCE works their implementation of Advanced Consisting. This is one of those annoying gotchas mixing mobile decoders with different Command Station's. I saw the same thing when I moved from a Digitrax Command Station to my ESU Ecos system. I have since used decoder assisted consisting and have no issues.

    Just one possibility!

For what it is worth, I use JMRI to setup all my consists, and they never seen to fail.......

Thank you, I think what w your saying is probably the case. I guess it’s either replace the decoder or live with it. Thanks for the reply. I’ll give JRMI a go.
