I have a "mountain" in one corner of the layout. So, I decided to make a road up the mountain. 3D printed concrete supports and girders, and roadside steel barriers. The vehicles were also 3D printed and finished. tr6.jpg tr8.jpg tr9.jpg

Nice, looks like it must be going somewhere with all the truck traffic. Reminds me of 191 north of us between Monticello, UT and Moab, UT that has a lot of truck traffic as it is the only north/south route that is truck friendly for a few hundred miles east or west of it.

    Good job,

Hi Sumner Thanks. I need a bit of ground cover touch up, and replant some trees.(y)

The 3D printed vehicles and road details look super. Very nice work.

I love that section of 191, especially north-bound! The scenery is gorgeous. There are enough passing lanes to make the truck traffic reasonable to handle most of the time. It wasn't always so, though, and holiday traffic is still a pain.

We've driven that section once or twice a year for 30+ years, travelling to visit my in-laws in SLC.

A beautiful side-trip north of Moab is to take highway 128 east, just south of the Colorado River in Moab. It follows the river through some amazing canyon scenery for quite a while, then heads north to hit I-70 near Cisco, where you can head west back to 191. It adds ~45 minutes to the trip to SLC, compared to taking 191 north to I-80.

Great suggestion(y). Took the river road a couple weeks ago going to Grand Junction and took it many times when I lived in Moab. Some of the John Wayne movies were filmed in that stretch. Next time you go that way run down through Cisco. Town, what there is of it, has become quite different, even has a general store now. Some of Thelma and Louise was filmed there using the now almost fallen down gas station.

When I was in Moab some lots there came up for sale for non-payment of property taxes. I could of gotten one for $75 if I remember right. Should of then I could always say I've got property in Cisco ;).

Highly recommend going to from Moab on that road, especially if you are going to from Moab on I70.

There are some truly majestic vistas along through there, and they reminded me of some of the old western movies, but I couldn't recall any specific ones.

Thanks for the trivia on Cisco; we'll have to go see that now!

Google maps street view will take you through there virtually as well.
