Here is my second post this evening. It shows the re-construction of the control panel and how the Kato turnout controls will be laid out. The 1 on the far left is the two turnouts for the reversing section , the next for to the right are for the four double crossovers and the next 8 are for the yard leads . All other turnouts will be operated by hand and are all on secondary tracks. The leadge on the back of the right side will hold the power supply for the Lenz set-100. Mike
Here is tonights progress on the toggle switch portion of the control panel. It will also have the turnouts , reverse loop and double crossovers numbered on it. I tape a generic plan to the back of plexi and then liquid glue .30 X .30 styrene to the plexi , over the plan. Later the holes will be cut and the panel painted , then the lines will be painted with a few paint pens. Mike
Mike I really admire your Craftsmanship. SO many different talents displayed. Job well done Sir:thumbs_up: Thanks for sharing the experience Glen
Today I got all the block wiring done and in the panel picture the only switch missing is in the lower center and it will be the master DCC OFF DC switch. The brown short track will be the Program track for DCC. The second shot shows the backside and the amphinal cable to connect the panel to the layout. Mike
I have all the wiring done and just need to tie it all up and have the 110V wiring done and the DC and DCC are connected. I have also re-installed the Walthers indexed table , engine shed and modified roundhouse. Please take a minute and take a look at part 5 on video. Made some good progress tonight as I got the background mountains and hills painted and some printed backdrop behind the roundhouse and engine shed. Thanks , Mike
Today I did my first piece of scenery on the new layout. I have re-installed the mesa corner that was there before. I raised it up about 1" and have made the surrounding hills. I also put up some more printed backdrops on the long wall. Thanks , Mike
Mike Absoultly super fantastic modling. You are a goal for me to aspire to. Waiting for the golden spike video and seeing the trains run round the layout. Backgrounds great. See ya Ron
Part 7 Here is the latest video. I am showing the completion of the basic ground form and also the messey train room. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJYn26fCbaI"]YouTube - N Scale ACTRR Rebuild part 7[/ame] Thanks , Mike
There will be more ground color added and also basic earth tone grass. Then later more detailed scenery. Thanks Hotrod , Mike
Thanks Mike, Makes me feel right at home ! LOL I have bags of scenery material blocking the right of way on my layout. Your layout is coming along very nicely. Smart idea with the newspaper. Craig
Here is the Las Cruces Depot I have been working on. It is a bone stock Walthers kit with a few small details added. It is not exactly our depot but really really close. I stuccoed it using craft paints and Aluminum Oxide blasting media mixed together and painted over the brick structure. The real thing !! My model! Mike
