Thanks so much Jerry. Makes me feel good to have provided a diversion from your current situation. Thanks Jerry , Mike
OK all here is the latest on the Albuquerque Carnuel & Tijeras RR. Not a lot going on but needed to post an update. Mike
Love the idea of the Santa Fe buldings, but you may want to also try adding the American Model Builder 2 story rooming house to the mix. With a few tweaks it would be ATSF style.
I have heard about them #4's myself so I went with #6's from the get-go. The yard and all sidings and spurs are #6's. It kinda screwed up the layout plans a bit (had to redo it). Less track in the area I had to work with. But in the end Its all working great and we are happy with the decision over here
No, Mike, it isn't that you might have something found its way into the mechanism on the Kato #4. Disappointing as it is, the #4 is FAR inferior to the #6. I wish I'd gone to the #6 from the outset. It would have saved a lot of time (and distress to the wallet!). Regards, Pete Davies
Seems thst all track manufacturers have turnout issues I use Atlsa Code 55 on my current lay out and the Atlas #5's have been prone to problems and that is why I try to use their #7's which I have yet to have a problem with. Not all track components are perfict in design and or in the manufacturing I used Peco and some other turn outs on my previous layout and they also had faults with a few components.
Interesting to follow how things evolve as time passes. Such as the trackwork change outlined in #27. Just like a prototype...
Thanks Dave , but I already have all the building nearly complete and as this is freelace , I do not worry to much about prototype. Thanks for the suggestion though. Mike
I knew the 4's were a problem before I used them but had them on hand to do that small yard. Should have known better I guess. Mike
