Those are depressing shots - seeing a beautiful layout being taken apart....but it sounds like we're all looking forward to seeing a new one rise from the ashes - keep us posted!
Thanks Dave , I will get more work done this weekend and That is a fine layout you have as well! Great photo album! Mike
Here is the latest YouTube video of the teardown. I will try to update as I go and it will also go out in our news letter. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XH_GTgKkvIY"]YouTube - Removal of the N Scale ACTRR[/ame] Thanks , Mike
Here is the progress as of today. It is down to the bare risers. Tomorrow it will be re-habing the backdrop and removing the the yard benchwork and the helix benchwork. Mike
Here is the finished layout design. The city will be on the left end and mountain with lake will be on the right side over most of the double loop and the track at the back of the long section will be elevated about 2 1/2". The loop on the lower left will go into the wall and be visable from the outside via a window that can be opened for access and will feature a tunnel lining even though the inside of the room will be buildings. Mike

HAPPY FATHERS DAY !!!!!!! Here is the last two days progress on the ACTRR. I got all the homasote down and trains temporarily running on both mains all the way around. Well , here is what the final plan turned out to be. The track is all in and wired up and pinned down in final position. I will try to post Video #4 later today as well. Mike
The Video progress looks great Mike, and really like your final plan going to be even better than the last. Nice accomplishment cause the last layout was a real GEM. Thank again for sharing Mike. And sure would appreciate that tutorial on your elevations if time permits. Glen:thumbs_up:

Looking very good You are doing a really nice job on the yard! And the rest of the layout is looking pretty interesting as well. I can't wait to see installment #5
Thanks Dave , I may do a video , or at least post pics of the control panel and tunnel progress. Thanks , Mike
Looking good! I was running 35 car trains on the Kato superelevated curves yesterday with no problems. Great stuff. What size switches did you use on your yard?
Here are some shots of the complete tunnel (facing into the garage). All I heed to do is have a frame and glass made and hang it over the opening. The interior of the tunnel was sprayed (over plaster) with Dupli-color truck bed liner spray and then gray tones were dabbed on and later drybrushed with very light gray. Then the rails were painted with Flo-quil paint pen and roadbead was washed with very thinned black wash. Tracks were cleaned and the trains run great through it. Mike
